Ingredients

1 kg Chops on the shoulder (boneless)

100 g Sugar

1.5 tbsp Black Pepper

150g Grated Carrot

150 g grated Daikon

4 Baguettes

3 tbsp Mayonnaise

1 bunch of Coriander

Preparation method for Bánh Mì

  1. Lightly pound the pork with a hammer or the back of the kitchen knife.
  2. Combine the lemongrass, sugar, fish sauce, black pepper, shallots, garlic, sesame oil, rice oil and sweet soy sauce in a bowl. Marinate the pork with the marinade for 2 hours or preferably overnight. Discard any excess marinade before grilling.
  3. Mix the rice vinegar with the grated carrot and daikon and let it stand for a while.
  4. Grill the pork in a grill pan on both sides until cooked through. Remove the pork from the pan.
  5. Spread the mayonnaise over the baguette and add a few slices of grilled pork. Put the carrots, daikon and cilantro leaves on top of the pork.
  6. Cut the baguette in half and serve.
