Maepranom Nam Pla Wan fish sauce is a sweet-salty dipping sauce made from fermented fish and palm sugar. "Nam pla" means fish sauce and "wan" for sweet, so hence the salty-sweet flavour of this sauce. In Thailand, it is often eaten as a dipping sauce with (sour) fruits such as unripe green mango!
