Spekkoek is really our favourite Indian snack for coffee. This layer cake is extremely difficult (and especially time-consuming) to make yourself, so why bother? We have it ready-made from the freezer! If you've never eaten bacon cake before, it's hard to explain what you can compare it to. It is a kind of mighty but sweet cake, with all kinds of spicy flavourings like aniseed, cloves and nutmeg. A small piece is more than enough, but it is oh so delicious!
