Privacy Policy Asian Food Lovers
In our webshop Asian Food Lovers, we process privacy-sensitive data, also known as personal data. De Vuurdoop BV considers careful handling of your personal data to be of great importance. In this privacy policy, you will read more about how we handle this information.
We adhere to privacy legislation, which means that we:
- Clearly state our purposes before processing personal data, as described in this privacy policy.
- Only collect the personal data that is necessary for legitimate purposes, nothing more.
- If your consent is required, we will first ask for your explicit consent before processing your personal data.
- We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, and we also require third parties processing personal data on our behalf to follow the same security standards.
- We respect your right to access, correct, or delete your own personal data when requested.
De Vuurdoop BV is the data controller. In this privacy policy, we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose in the webshop Asian Food Lovers. Take the time to read this statement thoroughly so that you are fully informed.
If you have any questions or want to know exactly what we keep on record for you, please read this privacy policy carefully or contact our customer service.
What personal data do we process and what do we use it for?
Your personal data, or personal data, is simply any information about you that allows us to identify who you are. Below, we explain which personal data we collect and what we use it for, per activity.
Processing Orders
When you order from us, we use your personal data to process the order. To get your order to you, we share your data with our delivery service. We also receive information about your payment from your bank, credit card company, or Riverty Afterpay (if you choose that option).
For this, we need your email address, phone number, billing address, date of birth, address details, and payment information, but we only do this with your consent. We keep this information until your order is completed. Some customer data must be kept longer due to legal tax obligations, but we do not use them for other purposes.
Creditworthiness check with Riverty/Afterpay payment method
If you choose the Riverty/Afterpay payment method, you have the option to pay for your order after 14 days. Riverty is an external party that enables this form of deferred payment. When you choose to pay later, a check is carried out to see if you can order for the chosen amount. In this check, Riverty looks at three factors: your payment history with Riverty, (the amount of) the purchase, and in some cases, external information from a credit bureau. It is a combination of factors that determines whether the purchase can be approved. If it is not possible to pay later, you can complete the order by choosing another payment method.
Disclosure to Third Parties
We transmit personal data to carriers and processors who use and process personal data exclusively on our behalf and may not use this data for their own purposes. We share data with the following processors, including to support our marketing efforts; Google, Microsoft Bing, Meta, Hotjar, Trusted Shops, Multisafepay, PostNL, DHL, and MailCampaigns.
Your Account
If you wish, you can create an account on our website. All you have to do is register yourself. We ask you to fill in some data and choose a username. With this, we create an account for you, which you can log in to with your chosen username and password. We do need some data from you for this, which we store, such as your payment information, email address, address details, billing address, and phone number, but we only use this data with your consent. We keep this data as long as you keep your account active. The advantage of this is that you don't have to enter all that data again and we can easily reach you if necessary for orders. If you ever want to change something in your account information, you can do so through your account.
Statistics and Profiling
When you visit our website and browse around, we collect certain information through cookies or similar techniques (also see our cookie statement):
- We estimate your location approximately based on part of your IP address.
- We keep track of what you do on our website, such as which pages you view or what you click on.
- We record which internet browser you use and the type of device you use to visit our website.
It is important to know that we do not link this data to you as an individual, but these aggregated data from all our users provide us with valuable insights to optimize our website. We only keep this visitor data as long as legally required, but at least for a maximum of 26 months. After this period, we will ask for your consent again, or else the data will be permanently deleted.
Marketing
We use various forms of marketing, such as email, social media, and other media. This also includes advertising banners on our own websites and on third-party websites, as part of our marketing strategy. Our goal is to make marketing communication as relevant as possible to you. For this, we need (personal) data to understand your interests and what you are looking for.
We analyze your behavior based on our marketing communications, and we also investigate how our campaigns perform based on your responses and behavior towards those campaigns. This helps us optimize our marketing efforts and serve you better.
Disclosure to Other Companies or Institutions
Except for the partners mentioned earlier, we do not share your personal data with any other companies or organizations under any circumstances, unless we are legally required to do so, for example, if the police request it in connection with suspected criminal activity. Your privacy is important to us, and we will always treat your data with the utmost care.
Cookies
Our webshop uses cookies, which are small files in which we can store information so that you do not have to enter it again and again. They also help us see when you visit our webshop again. When you visit our webshop for the first time, we show a notification with an explanation about cookies. We also ask for your consent to use these cookies.
You can disable the placement of cookies through your browser, but keep in mind that some features of our webshop may not work correctly anymore.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track how visitors use our webshop. We have a data processing agreement with Google that contains clear agreements about the data they may collect. We give Google permission to use the information obtained through Analytics for other Google services. It is important to note that we do not instruct Google to anonymize IP addresses.
Reviews
We love to collect reviews about our products because it helps us improve our products and better assist other customers. We do this through the eTrusted Shops platform. When you leave a review with us, it is assessed based on food law and regulations. You also agree that we may contact you based on your review. In this process, we process the following personal data:
- Email address
- Name (this can also be a nickname)
- The review itself
Your feedback is valuable to us and helps us improve our products and services.
Newsletters
With our newsletter, we want to keep you informed about new developments and the latest offers. You can easily subscribe to the newsletter through our website. We only send newsletters to people who have given explicit consent or to customers who have purchased from us. We keep your consent to receive newsletters so that we have a legal basis for sending the newsletter. If you decide to unsubscribe, we will immediately remove your email address from our mailing list.
When using our newsletter, we process the following information:
- Your email address
- Whether you open the newsletter
- What you click on in the newsletter
We use your email address to send the newsletter to you. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or, if you have an account, by revoking your consent in your account. Your click behavior helps us understand your interests, and we use that to better tailor the newsletter to your preferences. In addition to your general data, you also have the option to fill in a taste passport with us. This data helps us send you a more targeted email, such as your preference for Asian cuisine. You are not obligated to fill in this data and can have it removed at any time.
Advertisements
When we display online advertisements on third-party websites and on social media channels, we work with advertising networks and media agencies. In this case, we may process the following data:
- Your historical purchases
- Your click behavior on our website and online advertisements
- IP address or advertising ID
- Phone number
- Email address
- Name
When you click on an online advertisement for our products, such as on Google or Facebook, the respective social media channel is notified that you clicked on an advertisement from us and on which channel that advertisement was shown. Your click behavior, IP address, email address, name, and orders on our website are only shared with an advertising channel if you have given consent for the placement of cookies associated with these processes. You can withdraw your consent for these advertising cookies at any time through our cookie statement. When you create an account or make a purchase, we can classify you into a specific audience based on your email address, phone number, or name. This audience is shared with a social media channel to show relevant ads to you, show ads to other users of the channel with similar interests, or ensure that a certain ad is not shown to you. During this process, your data is always 'hashed,' meaning it is not readable but can be used for automated processing.
Security
The security of personal data is a high priority for us. We take extensive measures to ensure that your data is secure with us. We continuously improve our security protocols and closely monitor potential risks to safeguard the integrity of your data.
