Filipino Style Pork BBQ

Ingredients

1 kg pork shoulder

1 cucumber: sliced

1/2 red onion: chopped

50 g carrots: julienne

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp water

1 spring onion: ringed

Preparation method for Filipino Style Pork BBQ

  1. Cut the pork into 2 cm strips.
  2. Add the barbecue marinade to the pork in a bowl and let it marinate for at least an hour to overnight.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the cucumber salad. Start with the dressing. Mix vinegar, honey, fish sauce, water, black pepper and salt in a bowl. Whisk this together well.
  4. Add the sliced cucumber, red onion and carrot together with the dressing and mix well. Place this in the refrigerator and wait until the rest is ready to serve.
  5. Thread the marinated pork by three pieces on each bamboo skewer.
  6. Grill the skewer for 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness. While grilling, drizzle some of the remaining barbecue marinade mixed with some oil over the skewers.
