Ingredients

200 g Tofu diced

100 g Tempeh sliced thinly

2 Onions in wedges

20 g Laos / Galanga root

5 Cloes of garlic: pressed

2 soup cubes

5 large Salam leaves

3 Djoeroek Peroet leaves

100 g Green beans

100 g Pointed cabbage

6 dl Water

15 Peteh beans halved

Salt and pepper

Preparation method for Sajoer Lodeh

  1. Cut the tofu in small cubes and the tempeh in thin slices.
  2. Half the onion and cut it in wedges.
  3. Peel the laos and crush it in a mortar or spice crusher.
  4. Sauté the tempeh and tofu in a wok and take them out after a couple of minutes.
  5. By using the same oil, sauté the onion, garlic and laos.
  6. Add the soup cubes, shrimp paste, salam leaves and djoeroek peroet.
  7. Add the remaining vegetables, tempeh and tofu and pour in the water. Then add the coconut milk and the peteh beans.
  8. Leave tos immer and add salt and pepper to own taste.Sajoer Lodeh is a typical Indonesian dish. Enjoy this lovely meal by using this handy recipe.
