Ingredients

700 ml Water

3 el Sugar

450 g Oxheart cabbage

2 Spring onion

Preparation method for Tteokbokki

  1. Soak the rice cakes in water for about 20 minutes.
  2. Cut the fish bar, pointed cabbage and spring onion into 3 cm pieces.
  3. In a saucepan, bring the water, chili paste, chili flakes, soy sauce, sugar, garlic to a boil. Stir to ensure that all ingredients dissolve well.
  4. Add the rice cakes. Cook until the rice cakes are soft and the sauce has thickened (about 8-10 minutes). Stir frequently so that the rice cakes don't stick to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add the fish bar and cabbage. Cook it for 4-6 minutes. Depending on the rice cakes, you might have to cook it a little longer. Add water if it becomes too thick or if you don't have enough sauce.
  6. Taste if the sauce is flavored and your tteokbokki is ready!
